Clandestine Drug Meth Labs Minimize

Meth-Lab Clean-up

In 2005, EFT (Envirofoam Technologies) launched field tests to study the remediation of clandestine meth-labs. Working with professional remediators and industrial hygienists, they developed initial remediation protocols.

Several structures, from across the nation, were remediated. In each instance, Crystal Clean™ removed the residual Meth and brought post test samples close to undetectable levels. The post test results produced a first time clearance from the industrial hygienists.

Why Crystal Clean™?

  • Neutralizes Methamphetamine with just one application
  • Reduction of Methamphetamine to nearly undetectable levels with only a 60-minute contact time proven
  • Significantly reduces remediation costs
  • Use reduces overall manpower, equipment, and supplies necessary for meeting state guidelines.
  • EPA registered; inherently biodegradable
  • Non-toxic: environmentally safe.
  • No hazardous by-products
  • Safe to use
  • Easy to mix and apply
  • Easy to clean up

How to Remediate a Meth-Lab

  • First utilize and understand the laws in your state regarding licensing
  • Safety first-Use all appropriate PPE-Full suits with hood-full face respirator with organic/chemical filter-nitrile gloves
  • Remove all fabric and personal possessions from structure-this may include carpeting but under some circumstances it can be saved.
  • All appliances can be saved with our methods and protocols
  • Order enough Crystal Clean™ to do the job. (approximately 1-5 Gal pail kit/350 sq ft of floor space.)
  • Utilizing the Innovative FI-10V-MSC foamer, attach the 3-12 CFM Compressor to it. (The higher the CFM, the faster you can foam.)
  • Mix the Crystal Clean™ as per manufacturer’s instructions and fill the foamer. It holds 10 Gallons.
  • Begin by foaming all walls within a room. Now do the ceilings and finally the floor. Usually only about ¼ to ½ inch of foam is required.
  • Foam inside and out of all cupboards, cabinets and appliances. Pay special attention to the underside of upper cabinets over kitchen countertops.
  • Foam into duct openings (registers) heavily. These should have been cleaned by a professional duct cleaning company during this process.
  • Fog using the B&G flex-a-lite 2600 fogger into the ventilation sytem via the return air ducts now and after all foam clean-up is complete.
  • Complete all foaming within the structure and let the foam dwell for a minimum of 1 hr.
  • After the hour is up, remove all left-over foam with a wet/dry shop vacuum utilizing a squeegee head. (Do not attempt to remove foam from textured ceilings with the vacuum)
  • Wipe down all wood-work, cabinets and appliances with clean absorbent towels. These may be damp with water and then dry.
  • Concrete walls & floors require the use of EasyDECON 200® as Crystal Clean™ will react to the concrete and not produce the desired result.
  • Some painted and dry-walled surfaces will bubble but most will not. Please inform client of this possibility.
  • Finally, fog the entire structure including turning on the fan to the ventilation system.
  • Negative air and other traditional boundaries and barriers are unnecessary and a waste of time.
  • Do not call for testing until the second day after remediation. Any residual product will need to dry first or sampling will not work.
  • You are finished. Collect your money and go home.
